Donating of Artifacts
In November of 2014, the Ag Museum had a fire, limiting the number and size of artifact donations we are able to accept. If you are interested in making an artifact donation, please call 601-432-4500. A committee will address donations on a case-by-case basis.
If you are interested in making a financial donation, please visit the MS Ag Museum Foundation website or call 601-432-4500.
Requests to accept donations for the Museum collections are considered for three categories:
- Permanent Collection: The permanent collection consists of those objects which directly relate to the purpose of the museum.
- Interpretive/Education Collection: The interpretive collection consists of those expendable objects which contribute to the educational programs of the museum and are available to the public for examination.
- Prop/Equipment Collection: The prop/equipment collection consists of those expendable objects which do not relate directly to the purpose of the Museum but contribute to and enhance the visual and educational impact of exhibits of the site.
For Museum Collection inquiries, contact Ryan Roberts at Ryan@mdac.ms.gov or 601-432-4512.
Contact Sarah Pair at SarahP@mdac.ms.gov or 601-432-4500 if you would like an artifact to be considered for donation to the museum.
