Join the LeFleur Museum District for Science After 6 on September 16, from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.!

You’re invited to help kick-off the 6th Annual Mississippi Science Fest, presented by C Spire, at one of Jackson’s newest and most eco-friendly gathering spots: the EcoShed, for Science After 6 on Thursday, September 16, from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm.  Try out-of-this-world drinks from Spacebar, taste bits and bytes from the EcoShed Food Lab, and meet Pepper, C Spire’s humanoid robot and official mascot of the award-winning MS Science Fest!

C Spire’s Gaming Club will be on hand with interactive demonstrations for everyone! It’s the perfect start for the three-day Mississippi Science Festival synergized by the LeFleur Museum District. Please check back here to find details and review the schedule of events.

In partnership with the MS Science Fest, the LeFleur Museum District invites you to attend a special STEM-themed Field Trip Friday! On Friday, September 17, all four museums will host a day dedicated to promoting STEM subjects and increasing science literacy for our field trip guests.

On this special day, your students will be some of the select few who have the opportunity to spend their field trip time interacting with nationally renowned STEM professionals and engaging in unique, hands on activities that align and connect directly to the science and math content taught in your classroom. Students on this Field Trip Friday will get an exclusive sneak preview into the exciting guests, experiments, exhibits, and lessons brought into Jackson for Saturday’s MS Science Fest! ​

The Mississippi Science Fest (MSF) will showcase science, technology, engineering, and mathematic (STEM) industries, organizations, and innovation happening across the state. MSF aims to engage students, families, adults, and educators in a fun and interactive learning environment that promotes science education and workforce development.

The LeFleur Museum District will offer exhibitors, special events, and programs at four sites - the Mississippi Children’s Museum, MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Museum, and the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum on September 18.
